A TikToker Canadian mom got hospitalized after drinking too much water as part of a ’75-Hard’ challenge. Another influencer died of starvation after eating only uncooked vegan meals for 10 years — you might have seen that news.
What is going on folks?
Life is not a reality show. I am not against doing hard things or vegan meals — but the things we do should be meaningful, not fanciful. And everything has to be within the limits of reason.
The world of self-improvement has a problem — the more extreme you make things, the more eyeballs it gets.
To improve your life, you don’t need complex ideas, intricate rituals, or dangerous stunts.
The truth is so much simpler — just do one or more of these activities:
- Work out and run (or do some aerobic sport) 4-5 days a week.
- Meditate regularly (if possible, daily).
- Carve out time for focused work.
- Write and reflect in a journal.
You don’t even have to do all of them — start with one activity.
Yeah, it won’t make you an ultramarathoner or a body-builder but for 95% of humanity, this will do more good than they ever imagined.
Life is not that complicated. Keep it simple. Be consistent. And please don’t kill yourself for some stupid fad.
