What Yuvraj Singh Teaches Us About Transformation

When I first saw Yuvraj Singh in Bandra Gold’s gym in Mumbai, around 2010, he was in poor form and sadly, a little pot-bellied. He was out of favour and “hope” was not in the air.

Anyhow, nobody paid much attention, and after some time, he was not seen in the gym anymore.

A year later, came the World Cup. And this man, once seen with a hint of a pot-belly, was transformed into a smashingly fit guy, who became the Player of the Series.

And all it took was about a year.

Any transformation — whether physical fitness, mental capabilities, or even mindset — does not take that long.

We often wallow in despair about all the time and opportunities we may have lost. And while we lament the past, the next few months and years also roll by.

But instead, what if we chose to release the past and work towards the future?

We can either carry the baggage of past mistakes or do the heavy lifting to build our future. Doing both is awfully hard.

And honestly, quite unnecessary.
