Imagine this: Every morning, when you get up, you have to take these decisions:
1. Should I brush my teeth?
2. Should I take a shower?
3. Should I meditate or do some yoga?
4. Should I do some walking or running? Or maybe gymming?
5. Should I write a journal? Read a book? Or draw or paint?
6. And so on…
If each of these things is a decision to be made, you won’t do many of them. But thankfully, brushing your teeth or taking a shower is a habit — so it happens automatically.
But what about other things?
Every decision is a negotiation you have with yourself every morning. And often, you will lose that negotiation. So the workout will not happen, nor will meditation.
Decision fatigue is real.
Solution: Anything that enhances your mental and physical health and happiness — make it a habit. Because habits are nothing but mental automations.
Build the right habits and free yourself from daily procrastination. There is no other way.
