Today during my morning run, I crossed a guy walking his dog (a sweet-looking labrador).
But sadly, the dog was so overweight that even at a very slow pace, it was struggling to keep up — the owner had to keep pulling the leash to drag him along.
Who would have imagined that one day, we would even make our dogs obese and unhealthy?
The curse of modern life is ‘excess.’ Excess food, excess convenience, excess of everything that gives instant gratification. But sadly, nothing in life comes free — this excess has consequences.
This can’t go on. We are not only getting sicker, we are even making our pets sick.
The answer is simple. We need to sweat every day. There is no substitute for exerting our bodies, be it in the gym, swimming pool, or on the road.
Excessive indulgence is not the path to a good life. If we have to keep our bodies and minds sharp, every day, we have to struggle a bit.
A perfectly easy life is not the blessing it seems. Some things are just meant to be hard.
