Napoleon said, “Nothing is impossible.” Well, he was wrong.
Today, in the corporate world, many people are trying to solve the problem of overload by multitasking, because monotasking, apparently, isn’t fast enough to get things done.
Fair point.
But if a plane won’t get you from point A to B fast enough, do you take a train ride? No!
Then how will multitasking — the train ride equivalent — solve the problem?
The solution to the overload problem is:
— Prioritize ruthlessly.
— Say ‘no’ more often.
— Do less.
— Work with undivided attention, not like a tail-on-fire headless chicken.
You can only do what is possible. And some things ARE indeed impossible.
