Every day, you have 8 to 10 hours to play with.
If you spend all your time on emails, ad-hoc meetings, and distracted work, you create value X.
If you cut down some distractions, say no to a few random meetings, and do some focused work, the value creation may easily go up to 5-10X.
But if you identify one or two clear priorities at the start, and work on them with laser focus for 4-5 hours, the value creation could be 20-100X.
Focus plus prioritization can amplify the value created by 10 to 100 times.
Of course, these are directional numbers, based on my gut feel and experience. And not everybody will agree with these exact numbers.
But one thing is undeniable: Focus combined with prioritization is like a lottery ticket, except that we know the winning ticket number.
If we choose to, we can encash this lottery ticket every day.
