A Sunday Digital Fast Habit

I have realized over time that some of the best ideas to enhance our lives are also the simplest.

For a few months now, I have been observing a 12 hr digital fast on Sunday - I switch off all my devices every Sunday from 6 am to 6 pm. This rule is absolute - I make no exceptions whatsoever. Without exaggeration, I can say that this single thing has enhanced my life dramatically.

We are so tethered to our devices that it is almost like living in a house on a highway, with open windows facing the road. We deserve a break from this hyper-connected life - you and me.

Once in a while, why don't we slow down a bit? Why don't we close the 'open window' to the world, and look inside us? Why don't we look around at the trees and the birds? Instead of escaping our lives, why don't we live it one day without a big rush?

Life is supposed to be a mindful stroll in the park, not driving a Formula 1 car seven days a week.

On Sundays, let us slow down. Switch off your devices for 12 hrs. Throw them away in some corner of your house. Discover the life around us, which we sadly never notice.

On Sundays, let us experience what it is to actually live :)
